Packing & freight
Every lot carries a packed-and-shipped estimate before you bid, and every fragile object leaves here double-boxed with a genuine two-inch float on all six faces.
Why the estimate is on the lot page
Shipping cost is bidding information. A $200 pot that costs $90 to send is a different proposition from a $200 pot that costs $30 to send, and hiding that until checkout is a way of making people bid more than they meant to.
So the estimate is on the lot page, before the bid control, calculated from the object’s actual measured weight and packed volume.
How ceramics and glass travel
Unbleached tissue against the surface, never bubble wrap directly on a matte glaze. Wood wool or crumpled kraft as the crush layer. Inner box floating two inches clear of the outer on every face. Existing damage wrapped separately and flagged on the inner box so it is unpacked last.
How furniture travels
Anything over 40 lb goes blanket-wrapped on a freight service rather than through a parcel network, and the estimate says so. Doorway and stair access is your responsibility; we will tell you the largest single dimension before you bid if you ask.
