Demonstration site. Every lot, maker, seller, bid and result on this page is invented for the purposes of showing the design. Nothing is for sale and no bid you place here is real.

What this site stores

Two things, both in your own browser, neither of which leaves your device or reaches any server.

  • A session timestamp in sessionStorage, under the keyll.epoch.v1. It records the moment you first loaded a page in this browsing session, which is what allows the auction clocks to tick down consistently as you move between pages. It is discarded when you close the tab.
  • Your customizer settings in localStorage, under the keyll.brand.v1, if and only if you change something in the “Make it yours” panel. It holds the colours, type pairing and business details you entered so the site keeps them as you navigate. Clearing it is a single click on Reset in that panel.

What this site does not do

  • No analytics of any kind. No page-view counting, no heatmaps, no session recording.
  • No advertising or tracking cookies. In fact, no cookies at all.
  • No third-party scripts on any page as shipped.
  • No form submissions. The contact form and the bid controls validate in your browser and then stop. Nothing is transmitted.

Fonts and network requests

The two typefaces are self-hosted from this domain, so loading a page makes no request to any font service. The one exception is the customizer: if you choose a type pairing other than the site’s own, that pairing’s font files are fetched from Google Fonts at that moment, which discloses your IP address to Google in the usual way. Choosing the default pairing, or never opening the panel, makes no such request.

On a real site

A working version of this saleroom would need to hold bidder identity, payment details, bidding history and delivery addresses, and would need a privacy policy describing lawful basis, retention and your rights of access and erasure. This page is not that document, because there is nothing here to describe.
